I had a lot of help building the duck house. Dad and Husband worked with me outside, and my Mom watched the girls. We even had a neighbor come down and help with the roof. The house was a shed I found on Craig's list for only $200.00. I was already disassembled, so we just had to put the pieces back together...sounded easier than it was, especially the roof. It was big, awkward, heavy and had to be lifted high. Our neighbor is tall, strong and a heck of a nice guy, and agreed to come down with very little notice to help us out. We were very thankful. The dozen eggs we sent home with him was a very small token of our appreciation.
Mini helped make sure it was level...she did some measuring too. Our coop was "30 pounds and 2 and a half" long.
The ducks have a place to come, and tomorrow I'll be going with Mom and The Baby to "Duck School", at Yellow House Farm. If all goes well, we'll have 4 Muscovy ducks to show.
